Paul Ullman was born 4 April 1906 in Paris, the son of Eugène Paul Ullman of Paris and Alice Wood of Beverley Hills, Los Angeles, USA.  Both his parents were American citizens, but Paul and his brother, Allen, spent most of their early life in Paris where their parents were both renowned painters and artists, members of the high-profile American art community in Paris that included Gertrude Stein and Ezra Pound. Ullman attended the  Lycée Montaigne in Paris, but his studies there were interrupted during the First World War when the family temporarily moved to New York City and he went to Massee Country School, Bronxville, New York State. His parents separated in 1914 and divorced in 1921, Alice Woods remaining in the USA while Ullman’s father settled the family in France and married a Frenchwoman, Suzanne Ullman.........[Remainder of case study is complete - contact author for further details].
