Lieutenant Henri Hubert GAILLOT

Henri Gaillot was born 20 April 1896 in Liège, Belgium, of French-speaking Belgian parents, Alexandre and Marie Gaillot. Little is known of Gaillot’s early life other than that he spent most of it in Liège, but he served in the Belgian Army during the First World war and was awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre, Médaille Militaire and the Ordre de Léopold. At some point he had moved from Belgium to Paris where he worked for a well-known decorating firm. In the 1930’s he set up his own interior decorating and painting company and worked on the Swedish pavilion at the 1937 Exposition in Paris................
